Acceptable use policy

Last updated 2026-10-10 · Dezender

You may only decode files you are entitled to work on. This page sets out the rule and what happens if it is broken.

1. The core rule

You may only upload files that you own, files you are licensed to modify or reverse-engineer, files you have written permission to work on, or files you are otherwise legally entitled to decode.

Uploading software you do not have the right to modify in order to strip its protection is prohibited. In many jurisdictions that is not merely a contractual breach but a breach of copyright law, and it exposes you to liability that Dezender cannot absorb.

2. Examples of permitted use

  • Recovering source for a PHP script you wrote after losing the original.
  • Auditing or maintaining code your organisation licensed, with permission to modify it.
  • Security research on a codebase you own or have explicit authorisation to test.
  • Recovering code from a client project where the client holds the rights and has asked you to work on it.

3. Prohibited use

  • Uploading commercial closed-source software to remove its protection without authorisation.
  • Circumventing a licence check, or producing a version of software intended to evade licensing or payment.
  • Reselling, redistributing or republishing recovered source you have no right to distribute.
  • Uploading content that is unlawful, that contains malware intended for misuse, or that violates another person's rights.
  • Attempting to attack, overload, probe or bypass the service's limits, authentication or storage boundaries.
  • Using the service to build or train a competing product from other people's protected code.

4. Enforcement

We may refuse a job, suspend an account, or terminate access where we reasonably believe this policy has been breached. Where the law allows, we may also report serious abuse to the relevant authorities.

Suspension for a policy breach is not a refund event, and we may retain the minimum records needed to evidence the decision.

5. Reporting abuse

If you are a rights holder and believe your software has been uploaded to Dezender without authorisation, contact support@dezender.in with enough detail for us to identify the file and the account.

Decoding is performed by PHPDecode. Dezender is an independent product and is not affiliated with that provider. Questions: support@dezender.in.
